FET-103 Monofilament

Melt spinning technology for Monofilament

Monofilament extrusion is a manufacturing process that turns plastic resins into single, continuous, fine strands or monofilaments by melting the polymer, forcing it through a die, cooling and stretching it to enhance its strength and properties.

FET specialises in state of the art melt spinning systems for processing monofilament formats. The FET-103 Monofilament is a proven and field tested system capable of delivering high specification technical filaments.

Polymer Types and Filament Properties

Systems are available to process a large variety of polymer types including Polyester, Polyamide, Polyolefin, Polyethylene, Biomaterials, Bi-Component and others. Many filament cross sections can be produced. The equipment is configured according to the required filament specification, for example, high tensile, low shrinkage, high modulus versions are available.

Monofilament Options
  • Mono, Bi and Tri-Component technology
  • High temperature versions
  • Corrosion resistant versions for special polymers
  • Fully integrated computer control system for data logging, trending and storage
Applications

Monofilaments produced on FET Melt Spinning Systems are precursors to a multitude of technical and diverse applications:

  • Functional textile materials, conductive, temperature & chemical resistant
